Iowa law enforcement will be increasing their patrols to look for drunk drivers this holiday season.
It’s part of an enforcement effort that will happen from Dec. 18 through Jan. 1.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety says the holiday season is known for being the deadliest season when it comes to impaired driving.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says between 2014 and 2018, an average of 10,000 Americans were killed each year in drunk driving crashes.
